Pacing Fluctuation Evident Throughout the Race Leopoldo Galaz participated in the 2026 Mesa Marathon half marathon, completing the race in 2:09:40 with an average pace of 9:53 min/mile. His splits demonstrate varied pacing, starting the first mile at 8:55 min/mile and gradually demonstrating a slower pace, reaching 11:38 min/mile by the 12th mile. Leopoldo's performance placed him 1977th overall out of 4125 participants, 1091st in the male category, and 155th in his M35-39 division. The early miles saw consistent sub-9-minute pacing, but later miles indicated a decline, with elevations in the 9th and 10th miles reaching paces over 10 and 11 minutes per mile, respectively. The later part of the course shows variability that could be addressed with targeted pacing strategies.
