Consistent Mid-Race Pace Despite Early Challenges Jennifer Jun from Phoenix, AZ, showed resilience during the 2026 Mesa Marathon 10K as part of Team Kuka. The initial mile was clocked at 9:13 min/mile, which was her best split of the race, landing her in the top 106 of the female category. The split paces varied in performance from 10:01 to 10:50 min/mile in the subsequent miles. It seems that the second mile showed a decrease in pace resulting in a slower split of 10:50, impacting her overall placement most noticeably. Jennifer completed the race with an elapsed time of 1:04:16 at a consistent average of 10:21 min/mile pace. Interestingly, she managed to stabilize her pace after the initial fluctuation, running consistent splits in the later miles. Focusing on maintaining the momentum from the early mile could improve her future race outcomes. Engaging in pace training could help in achieving a more consistent performance throughout the race.
