Consistent Pacing Yields Strong Finish George Diaz demonstrated impressive consistency in the 2026 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon. Racing under the PHX Run Club banner, he maintained a strong early pace with a series of sub-5:23 min/mile splits through the initial 4 miles. His consistency, particularly noteworthy in a race context, was displayed as he matched nearly every mile's pace to his overall average of 5:28 min/mile. From mile 5 onwards, slight variations emerged, including a strong finish in mile 13 where he clocked his second-fastest split at 5:27. Notably, George's best segment was between miles 8 and 9, where a significant improvement in placement saw him climb to 3rd in his division. George's strategic, even pacing allowed him to finish with a time of 1:11:42, placing him in the top portion of his division.
